 | Newborns: Some of the most breathtaking photos of babies are when they are 1-2 weeks old. This the optimum age to capture the newborn look before they loose the curled up fetal position. Keep in mind that by week three many babies go through a growth spurt and start to fill out a bit therefore loosing some of their newborn look. These are the photos you will look back on and say, I cant believe you were once that little.

 | 4-months-old: At this point your child will have discovered their hands and feet which lend itself to adorable prints capturing your baby sucking on their toes. At four months they can also hold their heads up strong and most importantly smiles are very easy to achieve.
|
 | 7-months-old: By this age children will be able to sit up by themselves and will look natural and relaxed. Some babies are able to sit up by themselves by 6-months-old; however they usually do not look relaxed because they are concentrating so hard to not topple over. If you wait a few weeks until they are at least 7-months-old you will get what I like to call the Gerber Baby prints. These prints will capture them sitting up so proud with natural smiles that will most likely be your favorites for a lifetime.
|
 | 11-months-old: It is unconventional, but consider having the 1-year-portrait done before your child learns to walk with out assistance. Once your child learns to walk, having them stay in one place is nearly impossible. Keep in mind that their physical looks do not change much between 11 and 12 months, but their physical activity does. Plus, you will have your prints back by your childs birthday party to share with your relatives.

| When considering what age to have your little one photographed during the first year of life think in terms of physical abilities: curled up newborn, holding head up, sitting up and finally standing. When you and your little one look back at their baby photos it will be a wonderful example of how much they have grown and accomplished during their first year of life. |
